Terre Gaie

Josh's notes: The Lovo family is young, very smart, and very kind. They have a long history of wine in their family, but – like many others of their generation – have only recently turned their history and love affair with wine into a more than a hobby.

What I really appreciate about this estate is that they really love white wines – it is their passion, and their focus. More specifically, they love young, zesty, playful whites that are expressive and inexpensive. These are the wines you wish for when eating antipasti of salame, artichokes, and olive tapanade.

The Bianco, because it is not a varietally-labeled wine, will likely be a tough sell – but it is a great value for the money. It is also a really cool blend: 1/3 each of Chard, Riesling (which smells terrific), and a crazy local varietal known as Incrocio Manzoni. Invite your clients to think how they can creatively turn the marketing negative of “Bianco” into a positive. If they can, it’s worth it.
