Obelisco Estate 2008 Merlot

Deep red-purple-garnet color. Nice sweet cherry, black cherry, blackberry and plum fruit, vanilla cola toast, dried basil and some “smoked clove and bacon” spice. On the palate the wine enters full and slightly sweet and tart with dark cherry and blackberry fruit, slightly smoky toast, hints of vanilla and cola. The wine changes on the mid-palate with more structure and some earthiness then finishes long and slightly tannic.
