Meroi Nestri

Paolo Meroi owns one of the greatest little restaurants in northern Italy, Trattoria al Parco, in the tiny village of Buttrio. Paolo mans the grill, while his wife happily manages the kitchen with manifest skill and precision, adding a last touch of basil as a beautifully sculpted plate of local fare makes its way into the dining room. Of course, Paolo also makes the wine – and then some. Nestri is Paolo’s most simple wine, his house wine (if you can imagine!); a lovely Merlot with grip, power, and definition, yet refreshing and highly complimentary to food. To enjoy a meal at his restaurant is a life-experience; to enjoy his Nestri – well, it makes the week just a little better.
