Maurizio Marchetti’s Rosso Conero Riserva is quickly becoming one of the singularly best wines coming from the Marche. His 2002 vintage (a sub-standard vintage in Italy) achieved Tre Bicchieri in Gambero Rosso. Therefore, we have high hopes for this 2003. Aged 14 months in French Oak, this made only from “free run juice” with enticing notes of exotic spice, vanilla, dried cranberry, and bitter, dark chocolate. Will age for 15- 20 years.
